Ammut
An Egyptian Underworld goddess who possessed the head of a lion and a body that was part lion and part hippopotamus. According to the Egyptian "Book of the Dead", Ammut was called the devouress of the dead for she consumed the souls of all deceased men and women whose hearts were found to be weighted down with guilt.
