Hebat


A mother goddess of Hittite and Hurrian origin, who was worshipped from circa 2000 B.C.  She is called the Great Goddess and was believed to have been the principal goddess of the Hittite Empire.  She is depicted in ancient works of art as a matronly woman, often accompanied by a lion (her sacred animal and symbol).
