Heket


An Egyptian goddess who is associated with childbirth.  She is depicted in ancient works of art as a frog or as a woman with a froglike head.  She was invoked to ease the pains of labor and to guard against the dangers associated with the act of childbirth.  Numerous amuletes and other magickal objects associated with childbirth were engraved with her image or name.
