Ipy


A mother goddess who was worshipped in ancient Egypt.  She was a benevolent guardian to the king,   according to the Pyramid Texts, and was depicted in works of art as either a hippopotamus or a woman with the head of a hippopotamus.  She was often invoked by practitioners of the magickal arts to bless and charge amulets and other tools of magick with her benign influence.
